Planet Payment, the international payment and transaction company, has promoted from within by appointing current chief operating officer Robert J. Cox as the new company president.
Cox will also continue to serve as the company’s COO. The company has promoted Raymond D’Aponte to chief financial officer. Cox and D’Aponte will both be reporting to Carl J. Williams, chairman and CEO of Planet Payment.
Cox has served as the company’s senior vice president, CFO and treasurer since November 2009, and has served as its COO since January 2014. From June 2009 to November 2009, Cox was the finance chief of Harris Interactive, Inc., a market research firm. From 2001 to May 2009, he served as the CFO of DealerTrack Holdings, Inc., an automotive retail software solution provider. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant in the audit practice at KPMG LLP. Mr. Cox holds a B.A. in Accounting from St. Bonaventure University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
