NAB unveils Apple Pay-enabled card reader

North American Bancard (NAB), a merchant-focused credit payment processor, has teamed up with Apple to release the newest version of its PayAnywhere Mobile credit card reader, with the product launching in US Apple stores in September.

The card reader is available for merchants to use on an iOS device, and will accept payments from Apple Pay consumers.

Launched in 2011, PayAnywhere’s updated reader will also accept other contactless NFC payments, traditional magnetic strip credit cards and is EMV-capable.

‘‘We are thrilled to offer PayAnywhere to sellers and business owners of all sizes and types, anywhere in the US,’’ said Marc Gardner, founder, president and CEO of North American Bancard.

‘‘Customers will be able to purchase a solution which will enable them to accept Apple Pay on their iPhone or iPad. We are very excited to launch sales exclusively in Apple stores throughout the country.’’

The payment processor is so confident in its product that they have offered all customers the first $5,000 free in Apple Pay transaction processing with a PayAnywhere account.
