Mastercard Reinforces Customer Delivery Commitment in Asia Pacific with New Leadership

Mastercard today announced the appointment of Shafi Shaikh to the role of Executive Vice President, Customer Delivery, Asia Pacific, effective immediately. In this position, he will oversee customer support, product delivery, and customer relationships. He will also provide operational support and technical consultation for Mastercard’s network of financial institutions, merchants and customers in the region.

Shafi brings to the role in-depth insights and first-hand experience working in technology, operations and relationship management, solutions and design deployment, service delivery, as well as customer implementation. He also carries a wealth of extensive product knowledge, leadership capabilities and a firm understanding of the region. This background will be invaluable as Mastercard looks to bolster its customer delivery model.

For the past four years, Shafi has served as Mastercard’s Senior Vice President, Operations and Technology (O&T), Asia Pacific, where he worked closely with business and product teams to optimize Mastercard’s customer service delivery channels and execution, support network and technology platforms, and align strategic O&T priorities with business needs. Shafi was also instrumental in driving key technology initiatives within the region and ensuring the right level of investment in people and technology for Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Mastercard, he held senior leadership positions across Asia Pacific, Central Eastern Europe, Middle East Africa, Turkey and Russia with multi-national and domestic companies such as Citibank, Wipro Technologies and AurioPro Solutions in regional technology and data center management, offshore development, as well as customer implementation fields.
