Value of NFC lies beyond mobile payments, says Nokia
T-Mobile was established in December 1999 and is a multinational mobile phone operator. It is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom and belongs to the Freemove alliance. The company has a strong presence in Europe as well as the US. T-mobile has launched 2 NFC-enabled smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Amaze 4G, both of which run on the Android platform. T-mobile USA is a member of the ISIS partnership, together with AT&T and Verizon Wireless, which is devellopeing the ISIS mobile wallet. The partnership of the three largest US wireless service providers aims to build a nationwide mobile commerce network utilising smartphone and near-field communication (NFC) technology. The wallet will be compatible with Android smartphones and is due to launch in Spring 2012. ISIS is Google wallet's biggest rival.
