Starbucks is rolling out its mobile payments app in the UK after its success in the US. Starbucks hopes that the app, initially available on Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch, will shave 10 seconds off the time it takes to purchase goods from the chain, while consumers can link their loyalty card to the app. Starbucks launched the app in the US at the start of the year, and recently claimed that it has processed more than 20m transactions. Reports last month claim that Starbucks is in negotiations with Angry Birds developer, Rovio, to bring the popular mobile game to stores, as Starbucks continues to broaden its offerings to consumers.
