NFC firm ZAPA takes USD1.45m

Irish NFC-based loyalty and deals startup, ZAPA has raised EUR1.1m (USD1.45m) from Delta Partners to bring it out of liquidation. Angel investors Tom Morrisroe and Brendan McDonagh also contributed to the investment, with the latter assuming a controlling stake in the firm. ZAPA provides NFC solutions such as loyalty schemes and coupons to businesses and was founded in 2009. The firm says it will use some of the capital to fund 15 new jobs.
