Life360 nets USD3.5m funding and 10m users

Mobile family-safety app Life360, which recently topped 10m users, has received USD3.5m in a Series A round from Fontinalis Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, 500 Startups, Kapor Capital, Venture51, Bullpen Capital, Social Leverage and EchoVC Partners, as well as existing investors. The company, which also secured USD750,000 in November, now counts its total funding at USD5m.

Life360 provides mobile family safety with a location-based service that allows parents to keep track of their children and contact them through the app. More than 5m families are using the service on iOS and Android devices.

The investment from Fontinalis Partners, headed up by William Clay Ford Jr., executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, is expected to see Life360 extent its reach into the automotive market.

“Our mission of allowing families to live confidently extends far beyond the smartphone into many aspects of daily household life,” says Life360 CEO Chris Hulls. “With our significant scale and strong investor support, we will become the central app that families use to stay safe and connected. We plan on building new features like vehicle tracking and home monitoring – all controlled from your mobile phone without the need for any new hardware.”
