Apriva announces 2011 record year

Record Year

The end-to-end wireless transaction and secure information solution provider announced a record year for 2011 with its POS gateway processing $7.035 billion of wireless transactions (view press release). The result is a 27% increase on 2010 which accomplished $5.527 billion of transactions. During the last quarter of 2011, Apriva processed $1.89 billion of transactions, the best quarter of the company’s 13-year history.

Apriva president Paul Coppinger said the company excelled not just in terms of transaction volume but also in terms of market presence – “the POS business units, Apriva Vend unattended payment service, and mobile payment solutions each gained market share over the course of the year.” The company also exceeded 560 active channel partners and launched its new Apriva Wallet solution.

The Apriva mobile wallet was released in January of this year and is compatible with Apple iOS and Android. A Windows Phone version is due for release later in the year. The wallet has features such as electronic payments, receipts, advertising, loyalty programmes, couponing, location-based services, social media and secure storage for personal cards.
