
Remote check deposit
The service enables consumers to deposit checks of up to $1,500 using an iPhone or Android powered device (view press release). Smartphone users can cash checks remotely by photographing both sides of the check, filling out some basic information and depositing the funds by pressing the ‘deposit check’ button. The solution is the latest addition to the banks Mobile Banking Platform which was launched in November last year.
Manuel Chinea, Senior Vice President of US Retail Banking Operations says the banks mission “is to maintain strong local roots and offer advanced services customers usually associate with large, national banks.”
