Bringing online payments to the Philippines
Globe GCASh is the mobile payment service of G-Xchange, an m-commerce solution provider and wholly owned subsidiary of Filipino telecom giant Globe Telecom. The new online payment solution will enable Globe GCASH mobile wallet customers to shop online at US and UK sites that accept American Express. Goods bought online through GCASH via American Express are delivered directly from the UK or US to the customer’s home in the Philippines. (view press release)
Paolo Baltao, president of GXI explains that “with less than 5% credit card penetration in the Philippines, our new solution will provide consumers with a new and compelling payment option – and all they will need is a GCASH mobile wallet to start shopping on online sites outside the Philippines.”
