NFC ads
The advert, to appear in WIRED magazine’s April issue, will be for the Lexus in-car navigation system and information service, Lexus Enform and Safety Connect (press release). WIRED claims this is the first time NFC has been mass produced in a magazine advertisement. From April, readers owning an NFC enabled Android smartphone device will be able to scan the ad and launch a mobile website allowing them to explore the capabilities of the Lexus Enform and Safety Connect through interactive videos. The Lexus Enform and Safety Connect system features an app with voice recognition technology allowing users to carry out tasks such as perform local searches with Bing, make restaurant reservations through OpenTable and buy cinema tickets through MovieTicket.com.
WIRED VP and Publisher Howard Mittman says “the WIRED world moves at extraordinary speed, and this shows how we continue to work with our partners to ensure we all remain on the cutting edge.”
