The Netherlands based NFC specialist is rolling out MIFARE4Mobile as an embedded applet in its next secure element releases (view press release). The embedded applet will support contactless mobile services such as public transportation schemes, ticketing systems, loyalty programmes and access management in conjunction with NXP’s global contactless technology solution, the MIFARE Classic system. The solution is available now in the company’s latest stacked solution, the PN650, which incorporates NXP’s flagship PN544 NFC controller and recently enhanced SmartMX based P5 embedded secure element.
“With the majority of leading smart phone OEMs launching NFC handsets, network operators and transit authorities’ interest in mobile ticketing continues to rise,” said NXP’s vice president of mobile transactions Jeff Miles. “Making MIFARE4Mobile available on NXP embedded secure elements and interoperable with the worldwide MIFARE Classic infrastructure is just the start. We look forward to enhancing this offering….”
