Growing long-standing relationship into Canada
Through the deal Cardtronics will take on a portfolio of 472 7-Eleven ATMs in Canada with expansion rights (view press release). The deployment of Cardtronics owned ATMs for 7-Eleven is expected to be completed this summer. Cardtronics is also the convenience store’s principal ATM service provider in the US.
“7-Eleven has the largest ATM network of any retailer in the United States, with Cardtronics providing ATM services to the vast majority of 7-Eleven ATMs… The opportunity to grow our long-standing relationship internationally into Canada speaks to its mutually beneficial nature …” said Rick Updyke, president of US Business Group, Cardtronics.
Cardtronics first entered the Canada market with almost 600 ATMs through the acquisition of Mr Cash in late 2011; through this new deal the company now has over 1,000 machines in the country.
