KULA Causes, a charitable-giving internet service, has raised USD1.1 million in angel funding. KULA is the Colorado-based company’s own currency and is equal to USD0.01 that is given to charity by redeeming loyalty points and gift cards. The company also has programmes with merchants to earn donation credits from shopping at certain shopping outlets. Last year KULA raised USD500,000.
