Expanding tech-investment portfolio
Aston Kutcher’s venture capital company, A-Grade Investments, has invested an undisclosed sum in Iowa based mobile payment startup Dwolla. The funds will be channelled into Dwolla’s new online and mobile payments network through which users can transfer funds and buy goods and services straight from their bank account. The service charges 25 cents per transaction over USD10 and provides merchants with a cheaper alternative to traditional credit card processing. In February, Dwolla raised USD5 million in a round led by Fred Wilson’s Union Square Ventures.
The investment adds to Kutcher’s expanding tech-investment portfolio which includes the likes of Foursquare, Zaarly and Skype.
