Bank Freedom, a wholly owned subsidiary of PrepaYd, is entering a multi-year agreement with FIS Mobile to develop a mobile application for its market, the underbanked (view press release). PrepaYd also owns PrepaYd Wireless, a wireless phone handset provider to people unable to prove credit worthiness. Through the new partnership with FIS Mobile, PrepaYd will roll out an underbanked mobile banking application combining the PrepaYd Wireless phone service and Bank Freedom prepaid debit card programmes. The new application will enable underbanked customers with iPhone, Android or Blackberry devices to manage their finances remotely from their smartphone. Features of the app include checking balance and recent account activity, bill payment and SMS text payments.
