Rolling out its service
TabbedOut, a mobile app that enables users to open and pay bar/restaurant tabs with their phone, is rolling out its service in around 100 new locations in the Houston/Dallas-Fort Worth area. New locations include Kung Fu Saloon, Hendrick and OTC in Houston and Katy Trail Ice House, Humperdinks and Trinity Hall in Dallas-Fort Worth. (view press release)
The free app, available for Android and iPhone, enables users to store their card details on the phone where they are encrypted under passphrase protection rather than on a server or in the cloud. They can then open and view their bill in real time when out at a bar or restaurant and make payment directly from the device when settling up. The solution integrates with most major POS systems as a software update.
