Real time online identity verification
Following increased traction for its online identification verification service, miiCard is targeting the US market in collaboration with Yodlee (view press release). miiCard’s online identity verification service provides the same level of real time assurance online as a passport or driving licence does offline, alleges the company.
Through the partnership, miiCard is utilising Yodlee’s Personalised Finance Platform to determine an account holder’s online identity by linking their financial accounts with their online identity. This is coupled with additional security measures such as email verification and 2-factor SMS authentication to meet anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYS) standards. The combined solution enables financial services and e-commerce sites to offer products and services online where originally they would have required an offline identity check. miiCard can also be obtained as a Yodlee FinApp through Yodlee’s Personalised Finance Platform and network of banking customers and partners.
“Right now, digital identity is one of the most talked about technology topics. From social networking to banking, the need to create trust online is becoming ever more important,” said miiCard CEO James Varga. “Our strategic relationship with Yodlee means miiCard is the first commercial solution to the problem of how to prove ‘you are who you say you are’ online.”
