Using the funding for further expansion in the US
MiiCard, an online identity verification service, has raised USD1.6 million in seed funding from a group of investors including New Wave Ventures, IQ Capital and Par Equity. The UK-based company offers a ‘digital passport’ that provides identity verification in real time across the web. MiiCard claims the service takes just a few minutes to install and requires no offline proceedings, enabling users to link their online ID to their bank accounts and social networks. The firm is using the funding for further expansion in the US and adoption of the product across markets such as financial services, social networking and dating.
