Having achieved a USD1.6 billion increase in retail deposits in Q1 and surpassed 1 million customer accounts, the bank is now launching Ally Mobile Banking (view press release). The app is compatible with Android and iPhone and the mobile banking website can be accessed from any phone connected to the internet. Features of the service following the first phase roll out include check account balance, search transaction history, transfer funds between Ally bank accounts and find ATMs and cash back locations with GPS technology. A second app is available to non-account holder Android and iPhone users and provides the location of nearby ATMs and cash-back locations across the US.
A second phase for the account holder app is due to be rolled out later this year providing additional capabilities including bill pay, Ally e-check deposit and transfers to other financial institutions, friends or family, with Popmoney.
