Micropayments for favourite video bloggers
Swedish funding micropayments service Flattr has partnered with video portal Dailymotion to create a crowd-funding service for independent video makers. Flattr, created by former Pirate Bay spokesman Peter Sunde Kolmisoppi and Linus Olsson, allows users to make donations up to several hundred dollars to their favourite video bloggers. Users upload a limited amount of money into their accounts, which is then distributed to bloggers that they like at the end of the month. Users click Flattr widgets on blogs and other video content to add them to the list of publishers they would like to allocate funds to.
