
No need for additional application forms
The new card is being launched in collaboration with MasterCard and is available to the banks’ customers in Sterling, Euro and US Dollar (view press release). The card can be used at ATMs and for online purchases at around 33 million locations globally which accept MasterCard. Customers can check balance and top-up over the phone, online and in branch. They can also obtain an additional, back-up card to take on holiday at no extra cost.
Clydesdale and Yorkshire banks claim to be the only high street banks in the UK to offer prepaid currency cards instantly, without the need for additional application forms.
