Withdraw funds from an ATM without using cards
RBS and NatWest customers can now have the option to ditch their debit cards in favour of their mobile phones by using their new ‘GetCash’ app to withdraw funds from an ATM without using their cards (view press release). If a customer has lost, forgotten or chosen to leave their cards at home, they will be able to request the cash on their mobile phone. They will be given a 6 digit pin, which is entered at the ATM and the cash is distributed.
RBS and NatWest already provide an emergency cash service which nearly 60,000 people have used this year. RBS and NatWest are planning to extend the availability of the service to the 2.4 million customers already have the banking app on their phones.
