Points for purchases
Citi is expanding its ThankYou Rewards programme with the introduction of the CitiBusiness ThankYou Card, which enables business owners to earn points for purchases they make (view press release). Three ThankYou points are automatically earned for every dollar spent on a range of selected categories each quarter and a base rate of one ThankYou point is earned for every dollar spent on other purchases. Users receive 15,000 bonus ThankYou Points after spending USD 3,000 within the first three months of membership. Citi recognises each year of card membership with an anniversary bonus.
Points can be redeemed for rewards such as office products, electronics, gift cards, cash, charitable donations and airline travel. They can be earned accross personal and small business credit card and banking accounts, and combined into one ThankYou account. They are also transferable to other ThankYou members and can be pooled together for bigger rewards with other ThankYou member’s points via Facebook. Holders of CitiBusiness ThankYou cards also have access to online tools such as quarterly and annual account summaries, a personal business assistant service and a small business customer service.
“This new card gives business owners more ways to earn ThankYou points and the flexibility to redeem for what they want, whether it’s a gift card to reward an employee, computer equipment for the office, or travel on any airline for a well-deserved vacation,” said Terry O’Neil, MD and Head of Proprietary Products at Citi Cards.
