First Data is entering a long term strategic merchant services partnership with Chemical Financial Corporation, a bank holding company based in Michigan (view press release). Through the agreement, First Data will distribute merchant payment processing services to Chemical Bank’s commercial customers through the bank’s customer-facing channels such as their network of 142 branches across Michigan. First Data will be responsible for managing operations, risk management and merchant sales activities.
“Our ability to deliver, on a local level, the customer experience that Chemical Bank clients expect and deserve is the foundation of our partnership,” said Neal Korzekwinski, SVP of Strategic Partner Sales and Management at First Data.
