SMS Alerts
Canadian bank CIBC is launching a new SMS Alert service for customers (view press release). The new service enables users to receive alerts for important financial information either on their smartphone, through email or online banking, helping them to manage their finances. Alerts include message reminders of upcoming credit card payments and information on future-dated bills or transfers to ensure clients have adequate balances.
The initiative comes after it was revealed in a CIBC survey that Canadians named managing day to day spending and budgeting as one of their top three priorities for 2012.
