Processing online tax payments
The Bartholomew County Treasurer in Columbus, Indiana, has authorised Local Government Online Indiana, (LoGo), a subsidiary of NIC Inc, to process credit card, debit card, and electronic cheques for online tax payments using its PCI compliant solution (view press release). By using LoGO’s self-funded model, the new payment options are available without the use of taxpayer’s money and at no cost to Bartholomew County.
“It is great that LoGO Indiana offers an alternative payment method to our citizens. Being able to offer an online service for electronic payments is convenient, secure, and improves our department’s customer service to our taxpayers,” said Pia O’Connor, the Bartholomew County Treasurer. “During the Spring Tax Season, we were able to successfully process 198 online tax payments which totalled more than USD 630,000.”
