First Data Corporation, a provider of electronic commerce and payment processing solutions, is partnering with newly created SGB-Bank in Poland to provide card issuing and payment processing services (view press release). Through the deal, First Data will manage SGB bank’s ATM network and provide issuance of debit, credit and contactless card services along with payment processing services, including switching and settlement services, for domestic and international card transactions. First Data will also monitor fraud and, in the coming months, will work with the bank to implement a 3D secure system designed to provide improved security for internet payments by generating additional authenticating passwords for cardholders.
