Curated monthly gifts
Quarterly, a subscription service that offer users curated gifts every month, has added a handful of new backers as it re-opens its site to new users. Launched at the end of last year, the startup was forced to suspend sign-ups to prevent it buckling from over demand. Quarterly says SV Angel and Initialized Capital have joined previous seed backers True Ventures, Collaborative Fund and angels Scott Belsky, Brian Sugar and Ryan Jacoby, who invested USD1.25 million in the company in March. Users sign up to the service for USD25 per month to receive ‘gifts’ from designers that are curated by tech celebrities. It claims to have made USD100,000 in the 12 weeks after launch.
