Specific focus on mobile
Online gift card platform, CashStar, has raised USD5 million in funding from Intel Capital and existing investors Passport Ventures, FTV Capital and CashStar co-founder and current Coupons.com CEO Steven Boal. The new funding will go towards building out its platform, with a specific focus on mobile. CashStar allows customers to buy gift certificates via email, on websites, through social network sites and on mobile devices.
“CashStar’s innovations have digitalised the act of gifting online and now this trend is increasingly moving mobile, making it a more personal, engaging and rewarding experience,” says Intel Capital partner David Flanagan.
