CPV capabilities
FIME America, a consulting and integration test service for smart devices and secure chip-based applications, is adding MasterCard Card Personalisation Validation services to its Montreal laboratory (view press release). As a result of the deal the company will be able to provide local assistance to Canadian and US payment card issuers, manufacturers and personalisation bureaux. FIME’s Montreal laboratory, which is accredited by MasterCard as a Formal Approval Service Provider for CPV, offers card preparation, test solutions and CPV certification. Together, the services guide an issuer through the business requirements and card profile definition process and verify a card’s personalisation compliance to functionality and security requirements outlined by the payment system for its MasterCard and PayPass cards.
“With migration to EMV imminent in the US, it is an exciting time for the marketplace. It is important to ensure that all contact and contactless payment cards are compliant to the relevant specifications to ensure security levels are met and interoperability is achieved through the wider ecosystem. Stringent tests and certification processes are therefore fundamental to the success of EMV payment initiatives and the effective integration of other technologies such as NFC,” said Xavier Giandominici, director at FIME America. “We are delighted with our Montreal laboratory’s CPV capabilities and look forward to the opportunities this presents to our local customers in preparing for new EMV projects or extending existing deployments.”
