Authenticating customer IDs and credit cards
Jumio, an applied computer vision technology, is integrating its real-time ID authentication and credit card verification technology into a mobile application and development platform by mobile technology company, JMango, as part of a new partnership (view press release). Jumio’s solution will enable online merchants to authenticate customer IDs or verify their credit card with a camera scan using a mobile camera or computer webcam. The company claims that by asking customers to display their credit card or ID almost eliminates the risk of fraud and makes verification ‘secure, simple and seamless’ for the customer.
JMango’s role will involve enhancing and extending the reach of Jumio’s verification technology to mobile operating systems by integrating Jumio’s verification technology into the JMango mobile development platform. There are plans to release the first SDKs developed by JMango shortly. As part of the deal JMango will become a primary reseller of Jumio’s verification technology and expects to announce several new deals soon.
