The National ATM Council protests against external fee sticker requirements on ATMs

Fee notice stickers to be eliminated?

The National ATM Council (NAC), a US ATM trade association, is fighting to get the external fee sticker requirement disbanded. The external sticker results in lawsuits for ATM providers that use up time, money and resources. NAC says that the sticker is unnecessary given that there is already an on-screen sign that details the precise fee of transactions.

NAC has already made previous attempts with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Congress, and has now written to US Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, and Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, asking for their support on Senate Bill 3394 to eliminate the fee requirement. House Representatives have passed its bipartisan measure to do away with the sticker, now the Senate has to pass it so that Congress can make the final legislation and have it signed off by the president.
