Surge in mobile focused solutions
FIS, a provider of banking and payments technology, has announced that its client base for mobile has increased by around 150% year-over-year (view press release), which reinforced the interest in mobile. The firm claims this rise reflects its recent launch of solutions for tablets, mobile wallet and business mobile. FIS also claims that adoption by bank users of consumers of its mobile offering has climbed more than 200% year-over-year. Bank customers are taking advantage of the convenience associated with using a smartphone camera for cheque deposits. This is reflected by around USD1billion in deposits being made with FIS’ client institutions since those clients made mobile banking services available to their customers.
