Nigeria gets new mobile banking service

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigeria’s central regulator, financial institution, Zenith Bank and mobile network operator, Visafone Communications, are launching a mobile banking service dubbed EaZyMoney, according to reports. It is hoped that EaZyMoney will serve as the easiest route to the financial inclusion of the unbanked segment of the economy.

Visafone customers wishing to participate in the scheme need to get a Zenith Bank mobile money account with a SIM card containing the mobile money application in Visafone shops and also available on smartphones and Java-enabled mobile phones.
