Store receipts online
A new scheme which will allow consumers to store their receipts from retail stores online is to be launched, according to reports. The project, which will be trialled at 75 shops in London, aims to make it easier for consumers to claim refunds and prevent disputes at the till. Customers will hand a plastic card, often a retailer’s loyalty card, or their smartphone, which is swiped at the till. They will then be able to go to a website and see details of their purchase. Those details will be stored independently of the customers own computer or phone, designed to offer greater protection.
Paperless Receipts, the company behind the launch, expects the scheme to be rolled out across the UK in the months to come.
