
Facilitating payments
Allied Wallet, a California-based online payment processor, is collaborating individually with Sofort Bank, Giropay and Klarna (view press release). Sofort Bank has a significant presence in Northern and Western Europe work with over 20, 000 merchants and provides customer focused alternatives to traditional payment mechanisms such as Visa and MasterCard. Allied Wallet and Sofort will develop products for merchants and those within e-commerce.
The partnership with Swedish e-commerce firm, Klarna, aims to allow sellers and buyers globally to shop with each other, with Allied Wallet facilitating each transaction.
Allied Wallet has also inked a deal with German internet payment system company, Giropay, which allows users to buy online using direct online transfers from their bank account. Allied Wallet again will process the payments.
With these partnerships, Allied Wallet is projected to see a potential increase of USD3 billion in 2013 alone in regions such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
