Mobile Payment Pages
Payment acquiring business, WorldPay, is launching Mobile Payment Pages, a mobile version of Hosted Payment Pages specifically for web-enabled mobile phones and tablet devices (view press release). Mobile Payments Pages aims to provide merchants with the tools to display secure payment pages on mobile and tablet devices. According to the Global Online Shopper report, commissioned by WorldPay, 23% of consumers are putting off shopping on a smart phone if the site is not optimised for the device.
Card schemes such as PayPal and Elektronisches Lastschrift Verfahren (ELV) are supported by the solution, giving merchants the option to provide preferred payment choice to consumers. There is also a form validation functionality incorporated allowing consumers to get immediate feedback when they complete the payment and address details. At the end of the process, a results page appears to show the success or cancellation of the transaction.
In addition, Mobile Device Identification is available for merchants in the payment message they receive. This enables the eCommerce team to identify which mobile operating system has been used, the device resolution and browser; a mobile flag is also built in to detect if a mobile device has been used for the transaction.
