Pay in Your Currency
Taishin International Bank and Planet Payment, a multi-currency payment and data processor, are partnering to launch a pay in currency in Taiwan (view press release). The Pay in Your Currency service will be offered to Taishin Bank’s portfolio of merchants in Taiwan. The service will allow international customer to pay in their home currency at the POS. Users will be presented with a receipt or terminal which displays the transaction amounts in New Taiwan Dollar and their home currency, together with the exchange rate and other service details. The customer will then be asked to choose their currency choice on the receipt or device.
Planet Payment said the service may help merchants looking to reduce the processing costs incurred on these transactions.
