Expanding NFC technology
China Mobile, a mobile network operator, will introduce commercial NFC services in February 2013 at 12 Chinese provinces. It will stock a supply of NFC enabled handsets from eight manufacturers. The plan is to then expand in partnership with payments network operator, China UnionPay, to 50 cities later in the year. The intention is to sell 10 million NFC phones next year. In the coming months NFC devices will be available to China Mobile subscribers.
