M-Commerce insights
Research and Markets has released its ‘Digital Economy – M-Commerce Insights’ report (view press release). According to the report, Mobile Commerce is gaining importance in a range of industries, including telecommunications, IT, finance, retail and the media, as well as for end-users, and works best on those areas where it can emphasise the core virtue of mobile networks – convenience. Smartphone success is linked with Apps, which will result in further growth for m-commerce.
Kay developments highlighted in the report include the announcement in late February that Facebook had partnered with a number of mobile operators in order to provide streamlined billing practices; BuddeComm sees the development of m-wallets as a major breakthrough for the m-payment sector and beyond; and in 2012 the term SoLoMo is being much discussed when referring to developments in the m-commerce sector.
