
Expansion into Australia
Providers of payments platforms for online and mobile commerce, Braintree, is expanding its services into Australia which has a rapidly growing e-commerce industry with online and mobile payments expected to double to more than $22 billion next year (view press release).
Braintree offers integration for developers along with access to payment tools such as single tap checkout and payment acceptance in over 130 currencies. It has expanded into more than 30 countries this year including most of Europe and Canada.
“Innovation in e-commerce and m-commerce is happening at a blistering pace and we see it around the world,” said Bill Ready, CEO of Braintree. “We couldn’t be more excited to see what Australian innovators will build on the Braintree platform.”
A number of e-commerce companies use the Braintree platform including 99designs, Uber, LivingSocial, Airbnb, 37signals and OpenTable.
