New online protection
Customers of Swiss bank Raiffeisen can avail of a next-generation online protection solution called CrontoSign (view press release). The new service from Cronto Limited, providers of secure visual transaction solutions for online banking, helps to protect online customers from attacks by Trojan malware aimed specifically at online banking.
Known as “PhotoTAN” to Raiffeisen customers, it will be used for both secure login and payment authorisation. During the login process, the CrontoSign image will be displayed on the webpage and the PhotoTAN App automatically recognises it using the camera of the smartphone. Then, similarly to the security cards currently used, a unique password will be shown to the customer to complete the login.
“We have been looking for a solution that can offer both the security of transaction signing and the user experience that meets the expectations of our 840,000 e-banking customers. We chose CrontoSign for our customers because it offers strong security, yet is extremely simple to use,” said Pascal Dürr, Head of Electronic Channels at Raiffeisen, Switzerland.
