FEXCO partnering with First Data
Financial processing transaction providers FEXCO Merchant Services are partnering with First Data Corporation, providers of electronic commerce and payment processing, to expand First Data’s GlobalChoice dynamic currency conversion (DCC) solution to Canada.
The GlobalChoice service offers consumers the opportunity of currency conversion at the point of sale and aims to provide greater transparency in terms of exchange rates and fees. It is available in over 300 merchant locations throughout Canada. The Canadian Tourism Commission reports that more than $16billion in retail purchases was spent by international consumers in 2011. Canada represents the 20th country in which FEXCO has expanded its services.
“Entry into the Canadian market, and the opportunity to work with First Data Canada to offer GlobalChoice to merchants, represents a big opportunity for FEXCO. Strong external markets are key for Irish businesses at the moment, and we are confident we will achieve strong growth through expanding our activities into Canada,” said Dermot O’Shea, executive director of FEXCO.
