
Research and Markets is adding the ‘Global NFC SIM Market 2011-2015’ report to their offering (view press release). It predicts that the global NFC market will grow at a CAGR of 94.7% over the period 2011-2015.
Increasing adoption of NFC technology in Japan is one of the main factors contributing to market growth as well as the growth of contactless payments. Although, it points out that a lack of NFC infrastructure could prove an obstacle to growth.
The report points out that, mobile operators worldwide are keen for NFC SIM rollout with more than 45 operators backing technology for this GSM Association’s standard, while also collaborating closely to provide extra security and interoperability through NFC SIM cards.
