AmEx partnering US TV Networks
American Express is partnering US TV Networks FOX and NBCUniversal to offer consumers an interactive brand channel that is designed to create engaging shopping experiences for consumers that turn curated content into commerce (view press release).
The partnership with FOX offers consumers a Television Commerce or “T-commerce” program-New Girl-that allows them to shop in real-time for items that appear on the show while watching it. This is done through the new FOX NOW suite of Apps for iPad and at www.fox.com/shopping.
The collaboration with NBCUniversal enables consumers to purchase products inspired by some of their favourite TV shows, including Bravo‘s “Life After Top Chef,” E!‘s “Fashion Police,” and Style’s “Tia & Tamera,” through a content-to-commerce service that is powered by Zeebox, the companion TV viewing platform for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android and the web.
Lou Paskalis, Vice President of Global Media Content Development and Mobile Marketing, American Express said: “The technology that we are pioneering along with our partners is the first step in fundamentally changing the way that audiences can discover, engage with and ultimately have access to the things they see on television. The integration of commerce enablement into the television and mobile experience creates multiple contextually relevant opportunities to provide exclusive or enhanced benefits to American Express Card members in the comfort of their own living rooms and in the most convenient way for them.”
