E-commerce sales up 15%
A comScore report claims that e-commerce sales are up 15% year on year for the first 30 days of the holiday spending period across November and December, due to an increase in shopping on mobile devices.
According to the report, online shopping has hit USD20.4bn so far during the period, boosted by record sales of more than USD1bn on three separate days in the last week of November. Cyber Monday – the first Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday – led this record-breaking set of results, recording spending of USD1.46bn in 24 hours.
