Launching new payment platform
RAIL, a payment platform created by Viableware, allows full service restaurants to securely accepted payments from tables by integrating with their Point of Sale (POS) systems (view press release). RAIL, in handheld form, is designed to look and feel like a traditional paper bill in a folding case. However, the technology allows the user a variety of different payment options, such as splitting the bill, calculating the tip automatically or paying for items separately.
The payment platform has gained a network of support from 11 leading payment processors who all endorse the technology. These are: WorldPay, TSYS, American Express, Heartland, First Data Merchant Services, Global Payments, Merchant e-Solutions, Moneris, NOVA (Elavon), Paymentech, and Vantiv. Together, these processors bring in 1.6 trillion dollars through card transactions.
CEO of Viableware, Joe Snell, says: “The certification of our payment platform is significant because it means full-service restaurant operators can rely on the RAIL for access to the payment industry’s key processors. The RAIL platform serves as a turnkey payment processing technology for full-service restaurant operators looking to achieve PCI compliance – and to provide guests with the assurance that all sensitive cardholder data is protected from the moment the card is swiped.”
