No named successor
Visa has announced that president, John Partridge, will retire next year with no successor currently named. The announcement signals the second retirement of a top executive at the payments network in recent months.
Mr Partridge has largely been focused on the technology side of Visa’s business. He joined Visa in 1999 as president and CEO of Inovant, a subsidiary that owns and operates VisaNet, the platform that processes payments transactions made with Visa cards. He was appointed president in 2009.
“I have known John for more than a decade and have tremendous respect for John’s leadership and all that he has accomplished at Visa,” said Mr Scharf, a former long-time J.P. Morgan Chase retail-banking executive.
