Acquired Kickoff
Payment service Stripe, a favourite with developers, has acquired group chat and task management app Kickoff. The financial terms of the deal are undisclosed (reports StrategyEye). Kickoff’s Mac and iOS app, which is currently in beta, is staffed by a team of three, who say they will keep the service running despite the acquisition.
It has also been reported that the company’s team have previously completed freelance work for Stripe and discussed working together. Funding for the buyout has come from Stripe’s two 2012 rounds which raised USD38m between them.
